Car News

We had several major developments in our family's car situation over the holidays:

First and most excitingly: CC started Driver's Ed! She wanted to take it in person, instead of virtually, so she opted for a class that is 6 hours a day for five straight days at our local high school. She reports that it is boring, but she's happy that she already passed the practice test. After she's done, she just has to wait a few months to take the behind-the-wheel portion of the class, and then she'll be ready to get her permit.

(MJ has been flouting the law, and taking her to our middle school parking lot and allowing her to drive my car. She was relieved to learn that she can, in fact, reach the pedals.)

Also, MJ bought a new car! I've been after him for the last year to shop for a new one. His old one was 14 years old and wouldn't pass inspection, so he needed to replace it before his registration renewal came up. He saw a pre-owned BMW M440 that he really liked; we test-drove it one afternoon; and came home a few hours later having swapped the old Mercedes for the really peppy BMW. Good for him! He really enjoys driving it, and he deserves to have a nice new toy.
