I found a cute set of cookie cutters at Target last week: a pumpkin outline, with a bunch of eyes and noses and mouths to choose from, so you can make your own Jack O'Lantern cookies. I thought CC would enjoy it, so we've been making cookies these last few evenings.
I used this recipe for sugar cookies, which is delicious. I added food coloring to make them orange (easier than frosting them afterwards).
CC enjoyed picking the facial features for each one (they're all different).
This was the first time CC's made cookies. Needless to say, the dough was quite a hit, and a lot was eaten:
She wanted them all to be angry, but I insisted that at least a few be happy.
They are extremely large! So no, she did not get to eat an entire cookie.
But she shared with Daddy:
And all three kids enjoyed pieces of the cookies after dinner tonight:
Tomorrow's the big day! There's much excitement here!
