St Patrick's Day Parade

Today was the city St Patrick's Day parade, and we took the kids. It was our first time going, and I was happy that it wasn't too crowded or loud, and we all had fun.

Despite arriving only about 5 minutes before the parade started, we snagged very good seats:

(Little Man wasn't happy at the moment, because I'd put him down for this picture. He's in a very Mommy-hold-me phase right now.)

Being right at the front meant the kids received a ton of goodies, which I hadn't counted on. After the first 10 minutes, I had to tell parade participants to stop giving candy to us! And we have about 10 mardi-gras-style necklaces now.

We stayed for about an hour, and although the parade wasn't over, it was time for us to get our clan home, fed, and down for naps.

Once everyone was in bed, I told MJ that it's the beginning of a fun new era for us: we can have family outings that Sweet Pea and Little Man will enjoy, too. It used to be that activities like this we really just for CC, and the twins tagged along. But now they really enjoy outings too. Pretty soon we'll be going to the zoo, and the circus, and baseball games ... I can't wait!
