Trip to West Point

Last weekend was one we'd been looking forward to for several months: we flew to visit MJ's parents, then brought the kids to West Point for the first time on Saturday. It was a good trip on many levels: we spent time with Grandma and Grandpa, saw Great-Grandma Jean, visited with Cousin Carol, and shared MJ's cadet history with the kids.

One of the highlights of game day was checking out the Indoor Obstacle Course Test. The IOCT gym was empty, so we let the kids run around and try the obstacles. Swinging on ropes and tires? Running on balance beams? Climbing rope ladders? As CC noted, "I want to go to West Point when I'm big. It seems fun!"

We were incredibly lucky to have good weather: it was in the 60s and mostly sunny. Believe me, it could have been much worse in Upstate New York in November!

And we must have tired them out, because this guy fell asleep in the car on the way home. It's been years since any of our kids have slept in a car!
