Unfortunately it wasn't the best birthday celebration for MJ. He's been in constant pain for six months now, and it keeps getting worse. We did our best to make today special, though, and I know he appreciated it.
Special moments of the day included: MJ and I having a nice lunch date, the kids helping him unwrap the gifts they picked out for him, a nice family dinner, and the kids blowing out the candles on his key lime pie (because MJ doesn't like cake).
Happy birthday to my one and only. I'm hopeful that better days are on their way: he is scheduled for surgery next Friday. We didn't want it to come to this, but we have literally tried everything else. All our hopes are riding on March 15th, which could be his best birthday gift ever. Prayers, please, for Matt, for the surgeon and operating team, for healing, and for me, too -- to hold everything together!
