Strawberry Fields Forever
It's almost May, and what does that mean? Strawberry picking!
We parked and walked up to the fields. The owner greeted us and admitted that since it was so early in the season, and because we've had so much rain this year, there weren't very many ripe berries yet.
"But you're welcome to eat whatever you find!" he said with a smile.
We found just enough to keep us interested for a bit. But fortunately there are other fun things to do at the farm ... like spy on the chickens in their coop.
And swing on this HUGE swing. It was hung from a tree branch about three stories high! It's definitely the highest our kids have ever swung. Not surprisingly, Sweet Pea loved it from the get-go. CC took a little warming up, but caught on quickly. Little Man was wary, but finally agreed to try it. Afterwards he agreed it was fun, but not enough to swing again!
I wish we could have come home with a huge basket of fat strawberries, but I'll settle for a fun outing with the family on a beautiful day.
