Last weekend I went to Chicago with Kim and Linda to celebrate Kim's 40th birthday. This trip was originally scheduled for New Orleans, then changed to Nashville, then Grand Cayman, then Iceland (!!), before we finally settled on the Windy City.
It was fantastic. We stayed out dancing till three in the morning, went to an SNL-style improv show at Second City, took a boat tour of the city and lake, had drinks at the top of the Hancock Building, ate deep-dish pizza, walked around marveling at the architecture and bridges. We gave ourselves a $25 challenge to buy the most ridiculous outfits (mine involved pleather and fishnet stockings), and then wore them to a drag show. We met some really creepy locals, drank too much wine, and laughed almost nonstop for four days. We'll be reliving the stories for the rest of our lives!
I am incredibly grateful for MJ holding down the fort at home so I could have a carefree weekend away with girlfriends. Now I need to detox. And sleep for three days.
