I've been wanting to take the kids to Atlanta for years! So when Army played Georgia State at Turner Field this past weekend, it was the perfect opportunity.
Unfortunately it poured the whole time, which ruined basically all our plans. After spending Saturday morning at the aquarium, we walked back to the hotel (and got drenched). We'd had enough of the rain, and decided to skip the game that night and just go back home.
We did experience some of Atlanta's nicest restaurants in the short time we were there, though -- Hooters and Waffle House.
The aquarium was definitely the highlight of the trip. The kids' favorite exhibits were the otters, the beluga whales, the jellyfish, and the massive ocean tank with whale sharks and tortoises.
They had fun playing with a machine that let them take selfies to turn themselves into sea lions.
I loved that many of the exhibits had tunnels under and through them that the kids could crawl into, fully immersing themselves into the habitats. The biggest one was through the ocean tank, riding on a moving sidewalk!
But the last thing we did was the dolphin show, and that blew us all away! I think the kids will be talking about it for years.
