Medieval Faire

Our annual trip to the medieval faire! It's one of our favorite outings every year, and this year didn't disappoint.

Jousting! Meat on a stick! Giant turkey legs! A petting zoo! Dancers and fairies and fire eaters and minstrels and everything else you can imagine. The people-watching is always especially good at this event. Most costumes are generally medieval-themed, but this year we also spotted an inflatable unicorn and even a character from Star Trek: The Next Generation.

CC couldn't stop laughing that one of the goats in the petting zoo kept trying to eat her dress.

Each kid got to pick a special activity. CC and Little Man picked camel riding, which they've never been brave enough to do in the past. But they did it! (Now CC assures me she'll be able to go horseback riding at the beach next summer. But I'm not holding my breath.)

Sweet Pea forged her own path, as usual. She picked jumping on the bungee trampoline (which I'm sure was very popular in medieval times). MJ picked axe-throwing with Brett, as usual, and actually sunk one smack in the middle of the target.

CC and Little Man both discovered that they love turkey legs. So they're both looking forward to Thanksgiving.
