This year's celebration is different than it's ever been before -- or likely ever will be -- but it was still special.
The Easter Bunny was very tricky! The kids' baskets were hidden around the house, and a lot of the items were in the wrong baskets. It took a while for the kids to find the baskets and swap treasures until everyone had (mostly) the correct things. Silly bunny.
Everyone received a new puzzle. Sweet Pea was beside herself when she saw hers: "This is my dream puzzle! Like the Easter Bunny made it just for me!" A rainbow made out of cars? That has Sweet Pea written all over it.
We made Resurrection Rolls for breakfast. After cooking, they were empty -- Jesus has risen!
We played games, read books, worked on activities from the Easter baskets, and stayed in our pajamas all day. We rounded out the holiday with Italian Easter Pie for dinner and a bedraggled-looking (but yummy) bunny cake, eaten off fine china with our fancy silverware.
We missed our extended families terribly, especially since they're all nearby. But I'm so thankful everyone is healthy and safe, and we look forward to our normal lives resuming eventually!
