Independent Cooking

Yesterday the girls did something for the first time -- they made cookies all by themselves. MJ and I were busy watching Army kick off their football season in fantastic fashion (a 42-0 shutout), and so I gave them the green light to figure things out on their own.

"I am very good at math, so I can do all the fractions," Sweet Pea assured me. I had to get out the heavy mixer for them, and help them a tiny bit with the vocabulary (what does "cream the butter" mean?) but otherwise, they did very well making the cookies without me!

We will have delicious oatmeal raisin cookies for quite a while now.
