Fortunately during this crazy year, some things haven't changed. And one of them is our annual trip to a pumpkin patch. Our favorite farm was restricted to reservations only, and strictly limited the number of people who could attend in each time slot. But I signed us up months ago, and thank goodness the weather cooperated!
It was chilly but sunny, and we practically had the place to ourselves. No waiting for turns on the zipline! No sharing the swings! Even on the giant hayride trailer there was only one other family, sitting about 15 feet away from us. It was so pleasant, I hope they continue with reservations only in future years!
Funny story: we allowed the kids to run in the sun hemp field, in order to find their way through the maze. After running and yelling for a while, they eventually crashed through the plants to get out. We learned later that the farm owners moved the maze to a different field this year -- we were just trampling through a random field! Whoops!
