Unfortunately, this year we couldn't have our annual Christmas outing with Miss Alice. So instead of letting the kids pick out books at the bookstore, Alice instructed the kids to order books online. When they arrived, I wrapped them up, and Miss Alice came over to watch the kids open their choices and explain what they'd picked.
Little Man picked a coffee table book about his favorite show, The Mandalorian. (Alice pointed out that virtually every year we've done this, he's picked a Star Wars book!) CC picked The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook, and Sweet Pea picked a book about how to draw various vehicles (including a VW Beetle, which was the main attraction).
CC has already made Hagrid's Rock Cakes (basically small scones), and the girls brought some over to Miss Alice, along with Sweet Pea's very first rendering of a VW Beetle. Since we couldn't go to lunch afterwards as usual, once the weather improves, we will host a picnic lunch with Alice as the guest of honor!
