Fifth Meet

Last weekend was Sweet Pea's fifth and final regular-season meet of the season, and she crushed it.

First on beam.
First on floor.
Second on vault.
Third on bars.
First all-around.

And best of all ... she had the highest score of everyone, regardless of age! She's never earned that distinction before, and she couldn't believe it. There were over 100 girls competing at her level!

Scores:
  Vault: 9.600 (2nd)
  Bars: 9.575 (3rd)
  Beam: 9.475 (1st)
  Floor: 9.600 (1st)
All-Around: 38.25 (1st in her age group, and 1st among all age groups!)

Unfortunately, the meet did not hold an awards ceremony, because of Covid. So the one time she would have been recognized BIG for winning the meet outright, the ceremony was canceled. But it's okay -- she came home with a bunch of bling and a big boost of confidence.

It was even better, because Aunt Susan drove up with Dane and Hayden to surprise her and watch her compete. They must be her lucky charms! Sweet Pea was thrilled to see them, and so happy to celebrate afterwards (with dinner, an outing to a trampoline park, and spending the night with them at their hotel).

The next day, we kidnapped Hayden and took her home with us for the night. CC and Little Man were so surprised to see her get out of the car back at our house! The cousins had a blast playing before we brought Hayden back the next afternoon.

Meanwhile, Dane competed in his regional ninja warrior meet, and qualified for the World championship meetHoly cow -- these cousins had blockbuster sports weekends!

Sweet Pea has 6 weeks to prepare for her next meet: the state finals. Her goal this year is to make it to regionals, which depends entirely on how she does at state. Wish her luck!
