Little Man just wrapped up his second spring Little League season. This spring was kid-pitch, and it was a completely different animal. But he's still growing and learning, and -- most importantly -- loving the game.
This time he was on a 9-12 year old team, which (again) was a big change -- he was one of the youngest and smallest on the team. But he got a hit (one!), made contact a few times, got walked quite a bit, and struck out a ton. Surprisingly, his favorite moments were not when he hit the ball or got on base, but when he was actually able to run across home plate to score a run.
To boost his confidence and help him catch up to some of the other kids (who've been playing since they were 3), Little Man has started working with a baseball coach. I've already seen an improvement in his swing, and hopefully after this summer, he'll be set up really well to help his team next fall.
He still waves at us from left field, though. And that's my favorite!
