It's the visit we've been looking forward to for months ... Abby and Anna! They flew in for a quick weekend, and we made the most of it. They even joined us to swim in Alice's pool, which was a lovely surprise.
On Saturday, Grandma was a good sport and took us all to a local amusement park ... despite the fact that she hates rides. We introduced her to Dippin' Dots ice cream, but most of the day, she held our bags and waited while the rest of us rode ride after ride.
Eventually Sweet Pea guilted her into coming on a kiddie ride, and Grandma did. I had to buy the picture afterwards! You can see CC and Anna in the row in front of them, loving it. Sweet Pea reported afterwards that Grandma chanted, "Oh my God, oh my God ..." the entire time.
CC discovered she LOVES roller coasters. Sweet Pea and Little Man stuck to gentler rides, but CC went with Abby and Anna on every coaster she was tall enough to ride, and lamented the fact that she was too short to ride the biggest ones.
The next day, we all got together for a final lunch before Anna & Abby flew home. We celebrated Grandpa's 75th birthday (!!!) together, and exchanged so many hugs and kisses. We don't see them nearly often enough!
