2nd Grade Performance

This week was CC's 2nd grade performance at school. Her class has sung at various assemblies in the past, but this was the first "real" show she's done at school. It was great! They sang five Broadway songs: "Tomorrow" from Annie, "Let's Go Fly a Kite" from Mary Poppins, "A Whole New World" from Aladdin, "Seize the Day" from Newsies, and "You're in the Band" from School of Rock.

It was a packed house, but at least MJ and I could see her between the heads in front of us. She was right in front, thank goodness! And she looked straight at us the whole time.

Last month, CC auditioned for a solo in "A Whole New World," but she didn't get it. I asked her how she felt about another girl, Scarlett, getting the solo. She said, "I feel a little bit bad for myself, but mostly happy for Scarlett." What a mature response! And I was so proud of her for auditioning.
