MJ's surgery was yesterday, and thank God it went smoothly. The doctor told me afterwards that the herniations he removed were significantly larger than the MRI had indicated, which explains the extreme levels of pain MJ had been living with.
We were back home before noon. His pain meds have kept him relatively comfortable, although today and tomorrow are likely to be the worst days.
The GREAT news is that although the surgery/recovery pain is substantial, the "old" pain in his hips and lower back is gone! We are praying hard that means the surgery was successful.
Special thanks to my parents, who are helping with the kids while I am focused on MJ.
