Beach Trip, Part II

As usual, one of the best parts of our beach vacation was all the other activities we did. Like go on a dolphin cruise, and see tons of dolphins cavorting in the water -- including a baby!

Little Man discovered that crab is delicious. (He's been pretty adventurous about food lately. Just not vegetables.)

This year's vacation included several big "firsts" for us. Like, it's the first time we've ever spent a full day at the beach! Also, it's the first time our family has ever kept score in miniature golf. (Of the kids, Little Man won, probably due to his hole-in-one!) CC wasn't interested in playing, but she relished the role of scorekeeper.

CC was old enough this year to go on a horseback trail ride. I signed us up for an early morning ride one morning, but unfortunately once confronted with the giant beast (a small, gentle horse named Lucy) she couldn't muster the courage to get on. We will try again next year.

Sweet Pea, on the other hand, happily hopped up on this adorable pony for a few trips around the paddocks. She has already informed me that she's ready to take a trail ride on a "real horse" the minute she turns eight.

Our annual beach tradition: completing a big puzzle. This year's was a 500-piece collage of different candies, and all three of the kids helped a lot.

By an awesome coincidence, Patrick, Karen and the boys were at the same beach during the same week! One day we met up so the cousins could play.

CC was in quite a snit the whole time (because MJ required her to share a cup of water with her siblings). But fortunately a hug from Uncle Patrick went a long way toward melting her heart.

Farewell, beach! We'll be seeing you sooner, rather than later! Stay tuned ...
