They still share a room, and are still sleeping in their toddler beds. "Mommy, my toes can touch the end!" said Sweet Pea the other day. They love chatting/singing/playing together at bedtime and when they wake up in the morning (usually at 6:30 -- ugh). They squabble occasionally, but generally they're very good friends and enjoy cuddling during movies, books, and even during church.
Little Man still has a smile that can melt everyone's hearts. He is full of energy and always running, climbing on or jumping off something. "No standing on the furniture!" I say to him at least 5 times a day. He's smart as a whip and will talk non-stop about his favorite topics (mostly Ninjago), unless there's a TV in the vicinity -- then he's completely mesmerized. His vocabulary is impressive, and recently I learned he also has a surprisingly good handle on proper verb conjugation and subject-verb agreement. His ear for music is so good that I realized he was learning piano by ear. I actually had to change the way we're teaching him piano, so he will learn how to read music.
Sweet Pea is a constant ray of light. She has a sunny disposition and is quick to help when anyone needs it. She is earnest and very hard-working, at school and gymnastics and piano. But her stubborn streak is a mile long! She loves cooking, rainbows and small things, but her favorite toys continue to be matchbox cars. She loves Minis, and spots them all over town. Our trips in the car are peppered with "Look, Mommy! A light blue Mini convertible!" or "Mommy! Two Minis in a row!"
They are both very excited about starting 1st grade next month, and about their upcoming birthday party. August has been a very exiting month!
