Everyone helped scoop out the pulp (mostly Daddy), while the kids took turns picking the seeds out for roasting (also potentially for future planting. We are going to try growing our own pumpkins next year!).
Then it was my turn: to draw the design the kids picked (Minions) and do the delicate carving. I learned a valuable lesson about carving away from my fingers (the kids were horrified, but I survived).
In the process, we picked our design for next year's Jack O'Lantern. We are nothing if not planners!
