Now that our school buildings are closed again, we have plenty of time to do projects around the house. The other day I let the kids go nuts with "real" canvases and paints.
CC finished the needlepoint set Grandma and Grandpa gave her for Christmas last year! Now she wants to learn how to crochet.
I laughed when I found this note from Sweet Pea in the fridge. I guess honey limeade isn't her favorite?
Clarabelle showed up! Fortunately, she's wearing the mask that CC's friend Hayden made for her -- we were afraid she might have to quarantine for 14 days. Clarabelle has been in some very tricky spots this year. Several days we haven't found her until dinnertime. The kids have been writing notes to her, and every night she actually answers them! We've really enjoyed learning about her past, some of her favorite things, and her opinions on everything from Christmas carols to sports.
I am always amazed at the amount of laundry Sweet Pea generates. Can you guess which stack is hers?
And Little Man stayed home alone for the first time. He's been 8 for a while, but there's no way I'll let the kids stay home together without an adult. They would only be allowed to stay home alone, and last week the opportunity presented itself while Sweet Pea was out with Daddy, CC was making cookies with Grandma, and I had to run a few quick errands. "Can I watch football?" he asked. Sure!
(Sweet Pea has never stayed home alone. Not because I don't trust her, or because she hasn't had an opportunity. She is still my barnacle, so whenever she's given the option to stay home alone or come with me, she always comes with me.)
