Despite having a home NBA team, we've never taken our kids to a game. But last weekend, their school had the opportunity to participate in the opening events, so we signed up.
The students could make a cheer tunnel for the players as they were introduced on the court, or help wave the flag. Sweet Pea and Little Man were assigned to the cheer tunnel. At the last minute, Little Man felt uncomfortable and decided not to participate, so he and MJ headed up to the seats with some drinks and snacks.
But Sweet Pea had a blast with her friends, high-fiving the players and the cheerleaders as they ran onto the court.
CC helped hold the flag for the national anthem, and it was pretty cool to watch.
Our (cheap) seats were so high up in the corner that we were higher than the jumbotron, and we got vertigo from looking down. It was so steep!
Next time I think we'll definitely spring for some seats in the lower area, but it was still a great experience that we all want to do again.
Bonus: Uncle Jon and Dane came with us! Dane had a ninja warrior competition in the area, so afterwards they joined us for the game, then spent the night. It's always wonderful when we can squeeze in these little, precious visits.
