Sweet Pea's goal is to qualify for the regional meet in April. It's a great goal! We fully support her (even though the meet location is 10 hours away). But it will take some hard work on her part.
Her meet last weekend was fun, as always, but not her best. She didn't have any major problems -- she didn't fall off the beam, or stumble during her floor exercise -- but she just didn't shine the way she does when she's at her best. Her scores were very consistent, but she finished 7th out of 14 in her group. If this meet had been the state finals, she would not have qualified for regionals.

This meet didn't give medals past 7th place, so for the first time at a meet, she did not receive a medal for all of her events.

Vault: 9.350 (5th)
Bars: 9.450 (9th)
Beam: 9.350 (9th)
Floor: 9.425 (6th)
All Around: 37.575 (7th)
At least she didn't let her results get her down. When we returned home, MJ asked her how she did.
"Bad!" she answered, cheerfully, with a smile on her face. And then she cartwheeled out of the room.
