School's Out for Summer!

Today was bittersweet for the kiddos ... they were thrilled to have a party at school, and be out for the summer, but they were sad to say goodbye to their friends and teachers.

Today ended a week full of fun. Little Man and Sweet Pea had their portfolio review, which is one of my favorite IB school traditions. They showed me all the projects they'd worked on during the year, and together we picked one to go in their permanent file. Sweet Pea picked her report on landslides ("Fun Fact! Every year, landslides in the US kill 25-50 people!") , and Little Man picked his timeline on the American Civil War.

This is their last year being in the same homeroom. Starting next year, they will be in separate classes, although they'll still have math and literacy together every day, because they're both in the gifted program.

We went directly to Krispy Kreme, to reward their straight As with donuts!

After CC got home (crying from saying goodbye to all her friends and teachers), we went to the pool for a fun evening. We're looking forward to a wonderful summer!
