Wedding Bells

Over the weekend, MJ and I were lucky enough to go to Detroit to celebrate the wedding of our good friend from Notre Dame, Chris. We've kept in touch with cards and texts, but we hadn't actually seen him since our visit to Chicago in 2012. It was amazing to spend some time with him, meet Michael for the first time, and celebrate their nuptials.

The wedding guests all stayed at the Marriott right on the water, and our room had a beautiful view of the Detroit River, with Canada on the other side. And we had to acknowledge the city's place in the history of automobiles by visiting the Henry Ford Museum of Innovation, which was really interesting. In the "Driven to Win" exhibit, we saw many of the racing cars that MJ and the kids use in their Gran Turismo video game!

The wedding itself was lovely, held in the Garden Theater. MJ and I dressed to the nines, and enjoyed a little dancing, good food, and great company at our table with Chris' coworkers.

The next morning we got to spend even more time with Chris and Michael at a breakfast party in their suite, before heading to the airport. It was such a nice trip!

The kids also had a blast, getting spoiled by Memere and Pepere. They went swimming (twice), went out for ice cream (twice), visited a science museum and watched an IMAX film, took a train, and played tons of games. What a life!
