Bread Pudding

Otto is the size of a loaf of bread now!  So last night I made bread pudding, which is a particular favorite of mine and MJ's.  (He told me last night that it's one of my "top 5" recipes.)

This particular recipe is one I tried for the first time at Christmas, when MJ's family was visiting.  It was a huge hit!  The recipe calls for chocolate chips, but even at Christmas, MJ and I agreed that although the bread pudding was great, it didn't need the chocolate chips.  So this time I omitted them, and I was really happy with the results.  (We're obviously not chocoholics!)

The cinnamon-rum sauce, on the other hand, should definitely NOT be omitted.  It's fantastic!  It tastes like the gooey inside of a Cinnabon, and that's pretty close to heaven in my mind.

Other Otto news:  he doesn't have fur anymore, thank goodness!  (Babies develop a protective layer of hair while they're in the womb, but it disappears around this time as they get ready for delivery.)   He's also developing his own immune system, so he doesn't have to rely solely on antibodies from me.  And he is practicing breathing, which is why he frequently has hiccups!
