Congrats, CC!

What a weekend!  Where do I start?

First and foremost, CC is now baptized.  That's the most important thing, and the reason for all the happy chaos this weekend.  Our precious baby girl is the newest member of the Catholic family, and we couldn't be happier.

It was a weekend filled with crises, though!  Most worrisome was a health scare from my grandfather that resulted in an overnight hospital stay.  Fortunately he's fine, but for a while there it didn't look like he would be at the baptism (or my mom, either).

Additionally, CC's godparents, Tom and Carol, had the trip from hell trying to get here from Pittsburgh with their two boys.  Their first flight was canceled; their second flight got up in the air only to turn around and go back to Pittsburgh; their third flight finally arrived here, but without their luggage.  Madness!  MJ and Tom spent the morning of the baptism driving all over the city to track it down.

who is just two days older than she is

There were thunderstorms.  We nearly didn't get the cake I'd ordered.  There were some temper flare-ups.  We withstood an ant invasion.  My tires almost went completely flat.  And there was a dog-diaper situation (don't ask).

But in the end, all was well.  Everyone was able to make it to the ceremony, healthy and happy, and afterwards our house was full of family, friends, children, food, and lots of love.  CC's cousins, aunts and uncles (minus my younger brother who is deployed), grandparents, and great-grandparents were all in attendance.  Our loved ones came from five different states to make our celebration complete!
