Outside Play

The warm weather is definitely here to stay, although CC and I haven't taken much advantage of it other than increased walks and Friday's foray into the yard.
But a few weeks ago, my sister-in-law let me borrow a walking toy that's intended for outside.  And today MJ and I finally took CC outside to try it.

I thought that it would roll too fast for CC to keep up with it, and she'd end up falling all over the place until she got used to it.  But after a few minutes of staring between us and the toy, she took off.  I couldn't believe how fast she was going!  Yes, there was the occasional fall, but she never fussed and always got back up and kept going.

(You'll notice that she's yelling/talking the whole time.  This is normal, no matter what activity she's doing.  And although it might sound like she's fussing, she's actually happy.  Just loud.)

MJ and I agree that this toy will almost certainly help her learn to walk on her own.  She can control the speed, learn to change directions, and start to rely more on herself for balance than holding onto the toy.  I'm sure it won't be long before we have a toddler on our hands!
