CC was in her element. What could be better than having three new people around to adore her and shower her with attention? She was pulling out all the stops, doing her cutest noises and faces and antics. It worked like a charm -- she was the center of attention all weekend.
Brien is always a big fan of CC's. He calls her "Daddy's sweetheart" and "Mama's big girl." He was impressed at how big she's getting (as she was practically running laps around him). This visit he was also very focused on the twins' future arrival. He kept saying, "Oh boy, MJ, I don't know if you're ready for this!" Ha ha -- tell us something we don't know, Brien!
We spent a lot of time relaxing at home, but we did take one field trip downtown to a street festival. I was disappointed in the food selection (it was mostly carnival food), but Brien enjoyed being out and about, and even CC was able to get out of her stroller and toddle around for a while. MJ and Maripat got their exercise for the day, pushing Brien around in his wheelchair!
We don't get to see Maripat and Shannon all that often, so it was a special weekend for us and Brien. Shannon had actually never met Brien as an adult before, so now Brien has a new family member to love and talk about.
