CC loves to draw. She doesn't have much in the way of art supplies (I don't have much storage for things like that), so her creations are limited to a 16-pack of crayons and whatever scrap paper she can find around the house.
But recently she's been really impressing me with what she can draw. She started drawing clearly recognizable faces about a month ago, like this one:
She says it's me, because my hair is curly (squiggles at the top) and red. I can't believe how all the facial features are in the right places, and symmetrical.
She has since progressed to drawing entire bodies instead of just faces. And yesterday she was drawing, and I thought to myself, "That looks like a ladybug, but it can't be -- she's never drawn bugs before." I asked her what she was drawing, and she said, "A little bug."
I never knew 2-year-olds could do this! It almost makes me want to get her more art supplies to see where this talent could go.

Hi,
I am a fellow April 2011 Mom and have been reading your blog for ages now, never commenting though. My son cannot draw like this and he is the same age as CC. He is still making circles and squiggles. I would give her some more paper Mama...she's talented!

Welcome, and thanks! I am determined to start encouraging her more, and giving her more tools to explore!
