The (Mis) Adventures of Lamb

The mail arrived today at 5:08. I know the exact time, because the mail carrier was late, today of all days.

Last weekend, when we went to my parents' house, we left Lamb behind. Lamb is CC's "special guy," who she's had since she was born, who she sleeps with every nap and every night. These last few days without Lamb have literally been CC's only days without him.

So my mom packed Lamb in a box (with a few other surprises) and mailed him our way. I kept CC entertained with stories of how much fun Lamb had with Memere and Pepere, how Lamb got to go to the post office in a box, ride here in a big mail truck, and show up at our house on Thursday.

CC spent all of her "nap" time today staring out the window, waiting for the mail carrier, who usually arrives around 3. At 4, I got the kids up and we went for a walk. While we were out, we spotted the mail truck making its rounds in our neighborhood. So then it was simply a matter of how fast two 2-year-olds and a 3-year-old on a balance bike could go, booking it back to our house.

All is well again in the Morrison household.

When saying prayers tonight before bed, the first thing out of CC's mouth was, "Dear God, thank you for getting Lamb back today ..."
