Stargazing

As I mentioned in our first Christmas post, we received a telescope from MJ's brother and his family. I finally put it together last week, just in time for a bout of cloudy weather that prevented us from using it. Boo.

But today we finally had clear skies, so despite not having a moon available to view (it rises too late tonight for the kids), we went outside to see a few stars.

They're wearing their pajamas, because they were headed to bed immediately afterwards. For convenience, Sweet Pea and Little Man were wearing their cowboy boots. Nice look, eh?

For what it's worth, a star through a telescope looks about the same as a star without a telescope: a bright pinprick of light. I think seeing something larger, like the moon or a planet, will be more impressive!
