Renovation Week 17

We're back from the beach and I have so much to share! But first: a construction update. We came home to an almost totally different house!

The upstairs hallway is complete. It used to end right where that light fixture is, but now it's about twice as long, with CC's new room on the far left and MJ's office on the far right. The old portion, closest to the camera, used to be about six inches narrower, but it's been widened and the effect is actually very spacious. It's been painted the same gray as CC's room.

The carpeting is installed in MJ and CC's rooms, the hallway, and down the stairs. CC's furniture was moved into her new room, and she spent her first night there when we returned from the beach on Saturday. Her closet shelves are also constructed and installed.

Now that carpet is installed, MJ's office furniture has been moved back into place, and after a thorough washing, his treadmill and exercise bike are ready to be used again.

The doorway between the new bathroom and CC's old room is cut out and framed, and the new sliding door is hung. Here's the view from MJ's office through the bathroom, into the new guest room (both also painted the same gray):

Phase II has also begun -- renovating our old hallway bathroom and repainting the exterior of the house.

Everything in our hall bathroom has been removed except the bathtub. The new vanity is coming this afternoon, and I need to select tile ASAP!

Repairs to the exterior of the house are almost done (replacing rotten wooden trim pieces, power washing, etc). I also need to select a paint color for the house. But it's hard to get simple tasks done when CC's done with school for the year and I have three kids to entertain every day!
