Mustard Seeds

The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith."
The Lord replied, "If you have faith the size of a mustard seed,
you would say to this mulberry tree,
'Be uprooted and be planted in the sea,'
and it would obey you."
- Luke 17:5-6

This was our Gospel reading a few weeks ago, and that day during Children's Church, the teachers passed out mustard seeds to the kids. CC returned to our pew clutching six of the tiny things, but by the time we returned home an hour later, there were only two.

"Let's plant them, Mommy!" she begged. Why not? I'm sure a mustard seed isn't going to grow in our part of the country, or in October, but what the heck. We planted it in a little bowl and put it on the kitchen window sill. Every few days we dripped some water into it.

Unfortunately, two weeks later, this thing hasn't sprouted at all. But at least we had fun planting and watering it!
