Shave and a Haircut ... Two Bits!

Little Man needs constant haircuts, and the cute little kids' salon is getting pricey. So at the recommendation of several friends, this week I took him to a local barber shop. It was seriously old-school. I doubt anything in there has changed in the last 40 years. The chairs had ash trays built into the arms!

Instead of a booster seat, they had this little platform they put on top of the chair arms to prop him up. He thought he was the bee's knees sitting up high like that.

Best of all -- in the twins' opinion -- was the barber pole spinning outside. Little Man was reluctant to go in until he saw this feature. I'm pretty sure that's his new requirement for haircut places from now on.

We'll definitely go back. The owner was a really nice old gentleman, and I kind of love how vintage it was.
