Disney Cruise

What a whirlwind of a fun vacation! A week with Memere, Pepere, Aunt Susan and Uncle Jon, Dane and Hayden, Mickey and Minnie and all the princesses ... plus NO NAPS and DESSERT EVERY MEAL and WATERSLIDES and POOLS and BEACHES!! Goodness, I'm surprised the kids didn't explode from happiness and excitement!

We had a big table together every night, so no matter what everyone did during the day, we'd get together for dinner. It was a great way to reconnect each evening and hear about everyone's adventures! During the days the kids would swim at the kids' pool (where they discovered that they love waterslides), or meet characters, or occasionally go to the kids' club if MJ and I were doing something adults-only (like a couples massage, or a bartending class, or just hanging out on our balcony enjoying the peace and quiet!).

Our room was right above Jon and Susan's and Memere and Pepere's. Once day we looked over the railing to see Memere and Pepere waving up at us!

All Disney cruises have a pirate night, and we were prepared with our pirate costumes from Halloween (yes, those Halloween costumes were chosen deliberately!). Don't you love MJ's shirt?! I think it was the best guy non-costume on board.

On the day that we'd scheduled a meet-and-greet with all the princesses, Sweet Pea, CC and Hayden got dressed up in their fanciest princess attire, and I love the pictures of them.

Little Man wasn't very interested in the princesses, but he loved meeting Stitch. In fact, when it was his turn, he sprinted towards Stitch and tackled him! The "handler" had to come over and ask him nicely not to hurt Stitch. But you couldn't beat the joy on his face.

We spent two days on beaches: once in Nassau, the Bahamas, and once on Castaway Cay (Disney's island). The kids tried snorkeling for the first time and mostly loved it, although Little Man insisted he only wanted to do it in a pool, not the ocean.

Now all of us need to sleep like Rip Van Winkle. Anyone who tells you that a Disney cruise is relaxing is LYING.
