Globetrotter

Sweet Pea made this paper mache globe around a balloon last week, and after it dried we agreed that a) it looked great, and b) it would collapse the second we removed the balloon. So she chose to keep the balloon inflated for a while.

But after a few days, she decided to pop the balloon to see what would happen. The globe is made of several layers of tissue paper, which was still so thin that I was sure it would never survive removing the balloon. But much to our surprise -- it kept its shape and didn't rip apart!
