Happy Halloween!

We've been busy with Halloween activities this last week, and having a ball. We started with our annual neighborhood block party, which included a costume parade, all you can eat Chick Fil A nuggets, a fire pit, piggyback rides, and an unexpected rain shower that didn't dampen our spirits at all -- but resulted in a spectacular rainbow.

Over the weekend we carved our pumpkin. Thanks to some cool patterns and tools from the Brinks, the 2018 Morrison Jack O'Lantern is a pretty awesome owl, if I do say so myself. Everyone helped carve it, even MJ, who dragged himself off the couch to assist (he's been stricken with some extreme back/hip pain lately).

Amber was a little confused about the whole pumpkin thing, although she did appreciate some of the leftovers afterwards.

Yesterday was the kids' Halloween parties at school, which were a big hit. It was Sweet Pea and Little Man's first school party, and they were happy to finally have one of their own, not just be tagging along to CC's class.

And today is the big day! CC celebrated by coming down with a nasty stomach bug. Ugh! It's just not right for a kid to get sick on Halloween. Poor thing. She wasn't able to go trick-or-treating, so it's a good thing I snapped these pictures earlier in the week:
