Hayden is Six!

What a weekend! We celebrated Hayden's 6th birthday in style by going to a ceramics-painting place. Each cousin got to pick out an item to paint. Sweet Pea picked a fire truck; Little Man picked a poop emoji (he thought it was ice cream), and CC picked a very elaborate fairy. Dane painted a pretty jar (for Susan -- what a sweetheart he is!) and the birthday girl picked a mermaid.

It became obvious very quickly that CC would never finish painting her fairy in time. So we all chipped in, and her fairy became a group project. Memere helped Sweet Pea finish up her fire truck, too -- which ended up being spotted (kind of like a dalmatian!).

The items need to be glazed and fired, so we'll get them in a week or so. The kids can't wait to see their finished masterpieces!

Afterwards, we went back to Jon and Susan's house for the party. Hayden loved her gifts, and the cake (as usual) was delicious, thanks to Memere. I may have had three pieces. Or four.

Pepere entertained the kids with a fun card trick (which worked ... the second time!), and fooled them with a hidden squeaker. My three are still talking about Pepere's squeaky nose!

We also got to see Dane play a basketball game, which was really fun. Little Man was hands-down his biggest fan, jumping up and yelling every time Dane's team scored a basket. It was hilarious and sweet.

Happy birthday, sweet Hayden! We love you, and we were so happy to celebrate with you!

MJ was not able to come, because he still can't travel. His back problems are really affecting our family life! Hopefully his upcoming third injection will prove helpful. Fingers crossed ...
