CC missed out on a party entirely last year, and this year we still weren't ready to have a full-scale party with friends. However, we did celebrate today with some of our cousins, aunts and uncles, and Memere and Pepere.
We had a fun Harry-Potter-themed party in the backyard, and it was really nice to spend the afternoon chatting, eating and drinking, watching the kids play, and acting like old times.
The kids painted wands, played on the swingset, roller skated, had light saber fights, and played freeze tag.
My mom made this awesome cake that really knocked CC's socks off!
And after we sang to CC, we sang again for Uncle Patrick, whose birthday is tomorrow, and then all the kids bum-rushed him for a huge birthday hug! He ended up on the ground, much to everyone's amusement.
I'm so glad we were able to have a party for CC, and that my side of the family can start to gather somewhat normally again. Life is so good! And CC was over the moon.
