Sweet Pea's coach was with her (and her teammates) at gymnastics camp, so we benefitted from a ton of pictures (plus daily updates, funny stories, and explanations of all her activities). Sweet Pea had an absolute blast, wasn't homesick a bit, blew all her camp money on snacks, and can't wait to go back next year.
And Kyla actually coached Sweet Pea on her events, specifically helping her with her kip on bars, and her roundoff/back handspring/back tuck on floor. What a memorable experience!
CC and Little Man went to a Christian camp in the mountains. They swam in the lake, did crafts, sang campfire songs, went through the obstacle and ninja courses, and generally had a blast. CC made several good friends (and exchanged addresses so they can write to each other), thought tubing and swimming were the best, and missed us "sooooooo much."
Little Man's favorite things were the zipline and making bamboo forts in the woods. He didn't swim in the lake at all, because someone told him that the water would make him sick (thanks, whoever that was ...), but he surprisingly chose to be in the camp talent show on the last night, telling Star Wars jokes! I was so proud of him for doing that.

He admitted to being homesick (CC reports that she saw him crying several times during the week), but said that his counselor -- a fun guy from Jamaica -- distracted him with silly activities when he got sad.
"Did you guys shower?" I asked them.
"Yes, every day!" they said.
"Except I didn't have any soap," said Little Man.
"What?! You had that whole bottle of bath soap!" I reminded him.
"Oh, yeah!" he grinned. "I forgot about that."
The entire hours-long drive home, Little Man and CC talked a blue streak about all their awesome camp experiences, and even sang all the songs they learned.
"I can't wait to go back next year!" said CC.
"It was so fun!" agreed Little Man. "But I'm never going back again for as long as I live."
Wait ... what?!
