Cousin Time!

We just got back from visiting Dane and Hayden in their beautiful new home, and we had a blast! The trip was full of treats, memorable moments, hugs, and love.

The big highlight was when we took the kids to the aquarium. Some of the features were closed due to Covid, but there was still plenty for us to experience. There was even a shark exhibit complete with a giant tank of hammerheads, bull sharks, blacktips, tiger sharks, and silvertips. Little Man was thrilled. We learned all kinds of interesting facts, like: hammerheads swim tilted over to the side, because their dorsal fin is so top-heavy so it's easier that way. And: aquarium sharks never attack or eat the other fish in the tanks because they're fed enough by the staff that they're too lazy to expend energy going after anything else.

The dolphin show, naturally, was everyone's favorite. We took a risk and sat in the "soak zone," but fortunately we only got hit by a few drops.

Afterwards we surprised the kids with ULTIMATE MILKSHAKES, and they did not disappoint. Little Man's was mint chocolate chip topped with an entire brownie:

Sweet Pea's was Cookie Monster-flavored topped with a giant chocolate chip cookie sandwich (and no whipped cream, of course):

And CC's was fruit sorbet topped with Nerds and a popsicle:

Other than that big outing, we played (kids) and chatted (adults) and ate way too much (everyone). There were Nerf battles and foosball tournaments and dress-up and baking. I helped Susan a bit with the decor in the new house, but mostly we just enjoyed the company and basked in the kids' excitement.
