Zootastic

The other day we woke up and realized that our summer break was almost over, and we still hadn't gone to the zoo. Horrors! So we scrambled to get dressed and packed, and headed out of town.

Lucky for us, Pepere was free to meet us and surprise the kids. They were thrilled to see him, but we all agreed that next time, we need to plan it in advance so Memere can come too!

The animals weren't the most active we've ever seen, but we did finally get a glimpse of the elusive bobcat, and an ostrich up close. Sweet Pea was looking forward to seeing the zebras most, but unfortunately we only saw the hind end of one as it disappeared around a copse of trees. The polar bear stubbornly refused to make an appearance, but the harbor seals were very playful and fun. There are always new and interesting things to see every time we go to the zoo!
