Family Visitors

This weekend MJ's aunt Maripat came to visit, to see us as well as visit her brother, MJ's uncle Brien.  Brien is mentally handicapped and lives in a home about 2 hours from here, and MJ is his legal guardian.  We had never met Brien before moving here, but in the last two years he's become a really fun part of our lives.

Brien is a very happy-go-lucky, mellow guy, and we have a blast whenever we spend time with him.  He absolutely loves MJ, although he thinks I'm okay too.  :)  We visit him at least once a month, and we're able to make sure he has everything he needs.

Brien was very excited to see Maripat, as she lives in Denver and it's been years since they have seen each other.  And, as always, he was thrilled to spend time with MJ!  He also loves our dog Rory (he has a framed picture in his room of himself with Rory from his last visit) and was happy to meet sweet Rachel too. 

We ate a lot of good food, went for a walk around our neighborhood, watched Shrek, went to a local sports museum, and generally enjoyed each other's company.  A perfect weekend!
