This week Otto is the size of a head of cabbage. What's up with all the size comparisons being heads of things lately? Cauliflower, iceberg lettuce, and now cabbage.
Fortunately, there are a lot more recipes for cabbage than there were last week for lettuce. This week I decided on stuffed cabbage and it was delicious! (Full disclosure: I changed a few things based on some of the reviews. I added a bit of garlic, Worcester sauce, lemon juice, and brown sugar into the meat mixture; I used spaghetti sauce instead of tomato soup; and I baked it in the oven for 1 hour at 350 instead of simmering on the stovetop.)
However, the kitchen looked like a tornado had gone through after I was done! Ugh, what a mess. Fortunately I got it all cleaned up while the stuffed cabbage was baking, so when MJ got home from work we had a nice dinner together, without the dread of cleaning a disaster kitchen looming in the back of my mind.
At this point, Otto weighs about 2.5 pounds. He is absorbing a lot of calcium as his skeleton hardens, and his eyes are opening and shutting regularly. We feel him moving almost constantly, and earlier this week, we felt him hiccuping for the first time! How adorable!

So cute! Love the hiccups! Use them to help you gauge the baby's position--I will never forget the day I felt my tush hiccup. lol. The baby was clearly facing posterior, head down! Enjoy! :)
