Week 30 Belly Pic

Wow, I can't believe I'm at week 30.  Prior to getting pregnant myself, I didn't have a good idea of what all the weeks meant in a pregnancy.  Women would tell me they were 17 or 23 weeks along, and I would smile and furiously do the math in my head.  But I knew that anything in the 30s was pretty far along.  And now I'm in the 30s!

Recently I've noticed I have a very faint linea nigra.  This is a dark line that goes down the middle of a pregnant woman's belly.  It's most obvious on women who have darker skin.  My skin is so glow-in-the-dark pale that it's not surprising my line is so faint!  (You can't see it in the picture because it runs down the front of my belly.)  It doesn't bother me at all, but it will probably go away after Otto is born anyway.

Other symptoms that I've had: persistent numbness/tingling in my right arm, ankle swelling, and occasional shortness of breath.  That's about it.  I am very thankful!  I'm also grateful that my belly isn't big enough to affect my balance, or get in the way when I'm bending down or moving around.  So when I start painting and decorating the nursery, I won't have to worry about falling off the ladder or making belly imprints in the wet paint!

Lastly, I bought two new pairs of shoes this week (on clearance, fortunately!).  One is a pair of brown boots with a little heel, and the other is a pair of brown flats.  I have already worn them both multiple times, so I'm sure they will see a lot of use for the duration of this pregnancy!
