Papaya Custard

This week Otto is the size of a large papaya.  It must indeed be a large one, because the one I picked up at the grocery store earlier today is definitely smaller than a 2-liter bottle of soda (which was his size last week).

Regardless, I was happy to find a recipe for papaya custard.  Most of the papaya recipes that popped up in my initial searches were alcoholic drinks (um ... no) or tarts (I've made several already).  But I love custards, and this recipe is unlike any other baby recipe I've made thus far.

Behold, the papaya custard:

MJ and I agreed that it wasn't particularly good.  Papaya has such a mild flavor that you really couldn't taste it at all.  And the texture was less than ideal (although this might have been the cook's fault ... cough cough).

Otto has definitely been more active lately, squirming around all the time and occasionally causing me some discomfort when he pushes against my ribcage.  But still, he hasn't caused me any real pain.  He's a good boy (or girl!).  As far as I can tell, he hasn't "dropped" yet, although I will find out for sure at my appointment next week.
