Visiting Pittsburgh

I have been meaning to visit my close friend Carol for a while now.  She and her husband and son moved into a new house this past summer, which I haven't seen yet.  And their son is our godson, Patrick, and I haven't seen him for a year now.  And even more exciting, she is due with her second son just one week after I'm due!  So it was high time for a visit, since she and I will probably both be too busy to visit once April rolls around.

Unfortunately, due to our schedules and all the events that have been going on lately, the only time I could carve out for a trip was a few days last week.  Yes, in my 36th week!  My doctor raised his eyebrows at me when I told him, but fortunately did not forbid me from going (I'd purchased travel insurance just in case).  MJ gave me several very strong warnings of how upset he would be if he had to make a sudden trip to Pittsburgh if I was in labor, but I assured him that nothing would happen.

As usual (ha ha), I was right.  I did not go into labor, much to the relief of MJ and Carol's husband Tom.  I did have a great time, though.  Patrick was a bit under the weather, but was remarkably cheerful for a sick little guy.  (I wonder if this next picture is a sign of how he was feeling?!)
