Father's Day

Happy First Father's Day to my husband, who is everything a little girl could want in a father.  With CC he is endlessly patient, thoroughly in love, and remarkably gentle.  I look forward to honoring him for many Father's Days to come!

Another great weekend!  And even CC cooperated.  My parents came to visit.  They were really excited to see CC, since they have been on an extended vacation for the last month (in Greece -- I'm so jealous!).  CC has changed so much since the last time they saw her.  She's smiling a lot now, and really interacting with people in a way that she hadn't done in her first few weeks.

Much to our surprise, my parents offered to babysit CC Saturday night so MJ and I could have a "date."  It was so wonderful!  And despite having a difficult morning, CC managed not to give her Memere and Pepere too hard a time.  MJ and I grabbed a quick dinner and went to see Hangover 2 (don't bother -- it wasn't great) and got back home just in time to kiss CC goodnight.  It was a relief to get away for a few hours, especially during the evening when CC is most fussy.  This past week has been a bit rough for all three of us, and last night's break will fortify us for the week ahead!

MJ's first Father's Day has been a nice, relaxing day so far.  We went to 9:00 Mass, followed by brunch at one of our favorite restaurants.  CC was a trooper for both -- she is still batting a thousand at church and restaurants, never having fussed or had a meltdown.  And despite having her eating schedule completely turned on its head this morning, she took an extra long nap during brunch and put herself right back on track.

P.S.  The above picture, it should be noted, is the first family picture we've taken where CC is not screaming, and does not have a pacifier in her mouth.  Special thanks to my dad for taking the picture, and my mom for doing all sorts of silly things in the background to keep CC entertained during the shot.
